James Coyne has more than 28 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate development. He has played a critical role in the turnaround operations of diverse assets spanning homebuilding, office, apartments, condominiums, golf, hospitality, and resorts. James has also provided executive leadership to assist companies through corporate restructuring and bankruptcy operations.

Most recently, in his role as Chief Operating Officer, James was instrumental in leading the successful restructuring of Lake Las Vegas, a 3,600 acres master planned community in Henderson Nevada acquired by Atalon in early 2008. In July 2010, Lake Las Vegas emerged from bankruptcy protection with a strengthened balance sheet and renewed outlook for the community. Atalon’s efforts helped resolve a multitude of complex issues and establish a viable platform for the company’s future.

Prior to the formation of the Atalon Group, James provided strategic and operational planning as Vice President of Operations for Rhodes Homes, a large Las Vegas-based private homebuilder land development company. In this role he managed company holdings and provided operational oversight for land development and homebuilding projects. James was also responsible for developing new market business including both investment and development opportunities.

Prior to joining Rhodes, James was a Partner at Univest Development, an Arizona-based company focusing on commercial real estate redevelopment opportunities in the Southwest. He also founded Starpointe Properties, a condominium conversion and development company.

James holds both an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Arizona. He is a licensed real estate broker in both Arizona and Nevada.
